Interesting…

“The term reboot comes from the middle age (before computers). Horses who stopped in mid-stride required a boot to the rear to start again. Thus the term to rear-boot, later abbreviated into reboot.”

Dreamweaver Course

I’m teaching an 8 week Dreamweaver course at South Worcestershire college.

The first session went very well and everyone enjoyed themselves.

Working in Eurodisney

I’ve just returned from 4 days working in Eurodisney. It was a trip organised for 29 students from South Worcestershire College.

I was one of the three staff that went. The purpose of the trip was to take part in the Eurodisney study experience and learn more about Disney and the way it does things – specifically with technology throughout the Park.

It was a thoroughly entertaining and enlighting trip. The students were generally good, but the days were long (18 hour days!).

Finding out more about the Park really opened my eyes. The attention to detail and the constant presentation of excellence distills to every employee. A mammouth task for even a small company never mind one as large as Disney.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all. I hope you have a wonderful celebration and a fantasic new year.

Here’s to 2010 being the best year ever.

David.

I Agree!

Google is great. It does know everything and more besides. Do try other search engines though:

Windows 7 – Brilliant!

I’ve installed Windows 7 on my laptop. My first impressions are positive.

I like the fact I get about 20 to 30 minutes extra from the battery, the boot up is smoother and the general feel of the desk top is better.

I installed MS Office 2007 too and I like that. The ribbon toolbar took abit of getting used to though!

Promoting The Business

Spent a tenner on some self adhesive letters and made these signs for my bike:

Getting MS Flight Simulator To Work

A client asked for my help in getting MS Flight Simulator to work on a very high spec Vista desktop PC.

No amount of fiddling would get the install to get past the initial screen. I suggested a re-build of Vista from the recovery console. With this done (and 2 hours to download all the updates and patches for Vista!), the program installed first time and played perfectly.

The client is a dab hand at flying so he easily landed the Cessna on the runway – even after I looped the loop a mile from touchdown!
